My Notes:

Planets

Planets are large space bodies that revolve around a star.

In our solar system, we have nine planets that orbit around the sun.

There are four inner planets, closest to the sun and outer planets further from the sun on the outside of the asteroid belt.

The inner planets include Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.

These planets are made mainly of rock, and have irregular surfaces due to impact from asteroids and meteoroids.

With the exception of Pluto, the outer planets, including Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, are large gaseous planets with rings.

Some of the planets have natural satellites, or moons, while others do not.

Each planet orbits the sun in a specific orbit.
