Black Holes |
|
| A black hole
is the leftover core of a massive star after a supernova. These giant stars use up all their energy and collapse inward due to the force of their own gravity which causes a void in space. Black holes have such a strong gravitational field that it requires as much energy as is generated at the speed of light to escape a Black hole. Objects that get too close a black whole are sucked into it and heat up as they are consumed. Scientists are able to detect black holes by observing the movement of the bodies around it, since they are slowly moving towards their center (kind of like watching water going down a drain). |
