Coelodonta

Coelodonta, the wooly rhinoceros, lived during the last Ice Age in Northern Europe and Siberia.

It looked like today’s rhinoceros, with a thick body on four short, stumpy legs, and two huge horns on its snout.

The Coelodonta was covered in a shaggy coat of thick, course hair that protected it from the harsh climate of the tundra and steppe near the glaciers in the Northern Hemisphere.

It was hunted by early humans, and drawings of it have been found on cave walls in France.
