Wooly Mammoths

Woolly Mammoths and Mastodon lived during the Late Pleistocene Epoch, the last Ice Age. It was the largest land mammal of that time.

Like today’s elephant, the Woolly Mammoth had a long trunk and big ears. Although its body also looked similar to today’s elephant, it was much larger, measuring ten feet (3 m) tall and weighing three tons.

It was covered in long, dark hair. Woolly Mammoths went extinct because of the warming climate and hunting by humans.
