It was the largest land mammal of that time. Like today’s elephant, the Woolly Mammoth had a long trunk and big ears. Although its body also looked similar to today’s elephant, it was much larger, measuring ten feet (3 m) tall and weighing three tons. It was covered in long, dark hair.
