Thescelosaurus

Thescelosaurus lived in the northwestern part of North America during the Late Cretaceous Period.

Including its long, slender tail, Thescelosaurus measured up to thirteen feet (4 m) long, but stood just three feet (1 m) off the ground. Sometimes it walked on two legs, and sometimes it walked on four legs. Thescelosaurus used tall, ridged teeth to chew on tough, low-lying plants. On each foot were five toes with hoof-like claws.

Recently, a fossilized dinosaur heart was found in the skeleton of a Thescelosaurus; the heart was more like a bird or mammal's heart than a reptile's, giving us an important clue about the evolution of life on Earth.
