To print a Coloring Page of Tapejara, Click Here Tapejara Tapejara was a flying reptile that lived during the Early Cretaceous Period in Brazil. "Tapejara" means "The Old Being," from the religion of the native Brazilians, the Tupi Indians. Its sixteen-foot (5 m) wingspan was large for its three-foot (1 m) body. A large crest on its head helped Tapejara impress other animals, like today's male peacock. Tapejara had a short tail for balance and a birdlike beak used for eating fish and dead animals.
