To print a Coloring Page of Syntarsus, Click Here Syntarsus Syntarsus, now renamed Megapnosaurus, lived during the Early Jurassic Period in Africa and southwestern North America. It was one of the first carnivores to evolve. Nearly identical to Coelophysis, this small, swift carnivore ran on two legs and hunted in packs. Its hollow bones helped Syntarsus reach high speeds when chasing down prey. It measured six feet (2 m) in length and weighed twenty-nine pounds (13 kg). Megapnosaurus kayentakatae had a frill on its head while Megapnosaurus rhodesinensis, like Coelophysis, had no frill. Notes: IMPORTANT:
