This flying reptile was lightweight for its size at 220 pounds (100 kg) and had a wingspan of up to forty feet (12 m), the largest animal ever to fly. Quetzalcoatlus soared over the land, hunting with its short claws and long beak. It fed on smaller dinosaurs, dead animals, fish, or molluscs and crustaceans in soft ground and pools.
