Parasaurolophus

Herds of Parasaurolophus ran on across the plains of North America during the Late Cretaceous Period.

Parasaurolophus could walk on two feet or on four feet. It was about 40 feet long and weighed two tons; unlike many dinosaurs, Parasaurolophus had a duck bill and claws.

The 5-foot hollow crests on its head may have been used to produce trumpet-like sounds or to smell better; either trait would have helped the Parasaurolophus avoid danger.  It was probably easy prey for the big predators.
