Deinonychus

Deinonychus, Greek for “Terrible Claw,” lived during the Early Cretaceous Period in northwestern North America.

Although it only reached between 5 and 10 feet tall and weighed just 180 pounds, Deinonychus was able to kill much larger prey by hunting in packs and using all four limbs and its jaw in an attack.
